It does not force you to use a trigger to activate the steam and provides constant steam power throughout the cleaning process. You can use this steamer on all your hard floor surfaces including hardwood, tile, marble, granite, vinyl and laminate flooring. It does not vacuum floors like traditional steam vac cleaners so you have to first vacuum your floors to remove all the loose dirt and debris.

The FS20 will provide the steam cleaning power while the microfiber pads will clean up all the small pieces of dirt and debris from your hard surfaces. The water tank is not too big on this steamer so you will have to refill the reservoir every 15-20 minutes. In reviewing the Haan slim and light model SI-35 vapor steamer/floor cleaner and sanitizer we found that this model does have a few upgrades when compared to the FS20 model.  For one this unit uses different heating pump technology to pump the steam at a higher PSI then the FS20 model. This is useful in getting crevices and uneven floors their cleanest. This SI35 model also is lighter and more compact then the FS 20 model with a pivoting head to make cleaning and sanitizing your floors that much easier. The SI-35 model also has a thinner cleaning head to reach under cabinets and into tight places that the FS20 model may not reach. The SI 35 model also has more cleaning jets under the pad to provide a more uniform clean for the ultimate cleaning and sanitizing of your hard surfaces.

Due to the water pump system with the SI35 it is recommended to use distilled water when using this steam cleaner.  The distilled water will not clog up the heat pump or clog the cleaning jets.  Also by using distilled water for your cleaning you will notice the ultimate in residue cleaning for extremely sensitive hard surfaces like marble and granite.

We found that this versatile steam cleaning system was not able to deep clean our most filthy grout on our tile floors.  While it does an excellent job on the tiles it was not able to deep clean into the grout lines.  I guess this is to be expected as cleaning dirty grout can be an extremely difficult task.  We did find one article that describes how to clean grout though to assist you in cleaning your tile grout.
